Profile and Qualifications
Hector was born in Birkenhead and moved to Pembrokeshire as a child. Having past his eleven plus he went to the local boy’s grammer school. He left school age 17 with few qualifications but with some luck, family connections and a “can do attitude” he left Wales for London where he then spent several years working with the British pop group Madness. As their Personal Assistant Hector travelled the world helping the band with all their live and tv appearances as well production of their promotional videos. In 1987; having also worked with artistes such as George Benson and the Passion Puppets; Hector took time out to go travelling through India, Nepal and Europe. Having returned to the UK; and done a range of jobs from gardening, clown shows, community arts and waitor; Hector returned to education as a mature student. Eventually achieving the following qualifications
Access to Higher Education, Pembrokeshire College, 1994
Psychology, B.Sc. at Cardiff University, School of Psychology in 1997.
Counselling Psychology, M.Sc. at Trinity College, Dublin in 1999.
Qualification in Counselling Psychology with the British Psychology Society (BPS) in 2003
Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of South Wales in 2011.
Hector is registered with the UK government professional registration for professional qualified Psycholigist, the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and has professional liability insurance with Towergate Professional. Hector is also an active member of the University of South Wales, Newport, Counselling Psychology Doctorate course Steering Committee.
