With his many years of experience working in mental health and counselling in public, private and third sector organisations, Hector is available to offer advice and consultation on a variety of areas of organisation mental health and wellbeing provision.

Hector’s approach to this work in a very down to earth and natural style. This and his many years of experience, as a Counselling Psychologist, help him to develop positive and productive working relationships through which desired project outcomes are achieved.


West Wales Counselling & Psychology Services (WWCPS)

was established, by Hector, in 2000 as a professional counselling agency and was the first home grown employee assistance programme (EAP) provider in Wales. As well as staff counselling WWCPS delivered stress management and wellbeing training sessions for clients such as Ceredigion County Council and the National Library of Wales.

Helping Groups to Grow

was a third sector organisation funded to provide evidence based Psycho-Social group treatment for people with substance misuse and mental health difficulties across the Dyfed Powys Police area of Wales. As the Consultant Counselling Psychologist, for Helping Groups to Grow, Hector was responsible for helping develop and deliver the extremely successful treatment groups. Hector also developed and implemented the protocols and referral pathways and relationships with all the stake holder organisations working with Helping Groups to Grow.

Hywel Dda University Health Board, “Working Hand in Hand to Transform Mental Health”

Hector was one of the project team that won the prestigious NHS Wales Award (2017), Citizens At The Centre Of Service Re-design And Delivery award supported by Wales Council for Voluntary Action. This was the first stage of a complete transformation of how mental health services are delivered across West Wales and involved the consultation process with both staff and public to help design and develop significantly improved mental health services in Hywel Dda UHB.

Hector was the Team Lead that helped to develop and roll out this completely new service in Wales. Funded by Welsh government and trialled in West Wales, Hector developed the infrastructure and professional relationships for this brand new, all age, dedicated mental health advice service to become operational 24/7 throughout the year.

Pure West Radio, “Healthy Minds, Better Lives”

This live radio talk show was written and presented by Hector. During this mental health advise talk show various mental health subjects were discussed, as well as Hector answering questions from listeners and have guests in the studio to talk through their knowledge and experience of mental health.
